The school opened in September 1994 and received permanent recognition from the Department of Education in 1995. In June 2003, the school moved to our present building as a single stream school which included a unit for children with autism.The Outreach Classes for children with Autism opened in the school year 2006/2007.
In 2011 the school was asked by the DES to open a second stream to cater for increased demand for places. The Board of Management, after consultation, agreed to this request and the extension was officially opened in 2015.
Each September since the new extension opened 2 junior infant classes has commenced in the school. In September 2018 the will be 2 classes up to 2nd Class with 3rd-6th currently remaining single stream. The school will reach full capacity in 2022 when all classes will be two stream.
