Volunteer One to One Support Tutor
Description:
Are you a Maths, English or Irish teacher at Post-Primary level? Or a retired teacher who specialises in one or more of those subjects? Are you a Primary level teacher who could provide support in one or all of those subjects? These and many other subjects (eg Science/s, Business, Geography, History, a foreign language) are in high demand by the young people on our programme.
We are looking for tutors at Post-Primary and Primary level, to provide One to One weekly support to a student (from 6th Class to 6th Year). To support them to stay in education. The location of the venue depends on convenience for student and tutor alike and is for 60 up to 90 minutes per week. It typically starts from 3pm (earlier is possible on weekly halfday) or as late as from 6pm. The support takes place in a youth-friendly space such as a youth project, a library room or community centre. The demand is in a wide variety of locations - ever evolving - including Shankill, Sandyford, Tallaght, Blanchardstown, Swords, Drumcondra, Raheny and the city centre.
