Mullaghbuoy National School is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of Archbishop Eamon Martin, Catholic Archbishop of Armagh. The Board of Management of Mullaghbuoy N.S. invites applications for the position of Principal Teacher. The present teaching staff comprises of three mainstream class teachers and one shared SET post. This school is a child-centred, happy and safe environment where all the children are encouraged to learn and grow to the best of their individual strengths and abilities. Pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
• An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience
• A high level of understanding and knowledge of Special Educational needs and of inclusion and diversity in education
• Excellent people management and communication skills
• Proven leadership skills
• A commitment to and evidence of continuing and relevant professional development
• Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school based initiatives.
• Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer a school
• Experience in prioritising and organising workload
• Ability to encourage and foster the involvement of parents and the wider community in the education of the children in the school
• Previous experience in policy development
Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland (Route 1 – Primary). A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential. Candidates must hold a certificate to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school. The roles and responsibilities of the post are determined by the Four Domains of Leadership and Management as specified in DES Circular 0044/2019.
