Ballinamoney National School is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Kilmore, Martin Hayes. The school seeks to appoint a Teaching Principal beginning on the 16th September 2024.
The present teaching staff comprises of 1 Teaching Principal, 4 class teachers, 1 SET teacher, 1 part-time SET teacher and 1 SNA.
The roles and responsibilities for post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.
1. Leading, Teaching and Learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates must be fully registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland (Route 1 - Primary) and have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a recognised primary school. They must hold a certificate for the teaching of Catholic Religious Education and they must be fully Garda vetted.

In addition to high academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

The successful candidate should ideally demonstrate experience of multi grade teaching in a primary school setting and have an in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience. They should have experience in policy development and in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school based initiatives.
