The Board of Management of Presentation Secondary School, Ballyphehane seek to recruit an enthusiastic, hard-working School Caretaker. The position is for 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have experience in: general DIY, building maintenance, painting, power tools, janitorial/cleaning methods and an understanding of cleaning materials, chemicals and equipment.
The role may include light plumbing, light carpentry, management of heating systems, fire/burglar alarms, keyholder/ security systems, locking systems & CCTV.
Duties also include landscaping, use of lawn mowers, outdoor/garden tools, manual handling, furniture movement and building safety.
The successful candidate will also be community focused, patient, kind, generous and enjoy working as part of a staff team with the best interests of children and young people's wellbeing and education at heart.
Often the caretaker is the first person a visitor meets, so a welcoming disposition along with a high level of professionalism and diligence is needed also.
