An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Drogheda ABACAS Special School is a school for children with Autism and complex needs, aged 4-18. Experience working with autistic children in a special school setting will be a distinct advantage. Experience and competency in the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive teaching technologies for autistic pupils, demonstrate the ability to work within and lead a class team, have experience working from behavioural support plans and managing behaviours of concern. Candidates must have a good working knowledge of the Continuum of Support & the Autism Good Practice Guidance documents essential. We are looking for a teacher with a commitment to providing the highest level of education for our students, to join our school team. The successful candidate must be willing to undertake in-school training and external CPD which relates to the needs of pupils and the school. Candidates must be registered with the Teaching Council
