Kildare Town Community School is a new multi-denominational, co-educational post primary school under the joint trusteeship of Kildare & Wicklow Educational and Training Board and the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin. The school opened in September 2011 following the amalgamation of the Presentation Secondary school, St Joseph`s Academy/De La Salle Secondary school and Kildare Vocational School. Our state of the art facilities are provided under a Public Private Partnership model.
KTCS is a progressive, innovate school looking for an enthusiastic Chaplain to join the team for the academic year 2022-2023.
The School Chaplain is appointed by the Board of Management in accordance with procedures outlined for the appointment of a teacher subject to equivalent terms and conditions of appointment.
School Chaplaincies paid by the State are regarded as teaching posts and those appointed to them should be registered with the Teaching Council as outlined in CL 52/2013.
The Chaplain is required to teach four hours (6 periods) of class instruction per week. Other Chaplaincy duties include visitation of homes, religious services, retreats and celebrations, as well as counselling. The Chaplain is also expected to take an interest in the extra-curricular activities of the school, to encourage young people to be involved in the community, to be available during state examinations and to be in contact with the adult education student body.
Chaplaincy is a full-time job and requires full-time commitment. As a staff member, the Chaplain is expected to share in the corporate responsibility for discipline and good order.

a.) The Application Form is available to download on www.ktcs.ie under About Us or by contacting the school office by email info@ktcs.ie or by phone on 045 535 228.
b.) Please note that it is the responsibility of all applicants to ensure that completed application is received by 4pm on Wednesday 10th August 2022. Applications will only be taken on this form which must be submitted by post for the attention of the Secretary of the Board of Management.
c.) Four copies of the completed application form should be submitted.
d.) Closing date for applications is Wednesday August 10th at 4pm.
e.)Shortlisting will be part of the interview process. Interviews will take place in person on the week beginning Monday 15th August.
f.)Canvassing will disqualify.
g.) All appointments are subject to the sanction and approval of the Department of Education. Application form available on school website.
e.) Proof of Garda Vetting must be submitted with application.
