An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Both positions are for a 0.665 posts (21.28 hours). The positions will involve working closely with Principal teacher, class teacher and special education teacher in support of children with Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate would ideally have good communication skills and evidence of CPD in the area of Special Education.
Candidates must be willing team members, display strong work ethic, punctual, works well on own initiative, level headed and doesn’t panic in pressurised situations, be flexible and demonstrate confidentiality of the pupils at all times.
Both special need assistants will be charged with the duty of peg feeding (pump feeding) a pupil. Experience of the aforementioned would be highly desirable. Both successful candidates must be willing to engage in training for same.
The following would be advantageous:
Proficient IT skills
Ability to confidently play keyboard and or guitar
Evidence of up to date first aid and defibrillator training
One position will be from 9:20 am to 1:35 pm and the second position will be from 10:45 am to 3 pm. These times are subject to change based on the needs of the pupils and school. These times may change at any stage throughout the duration of employment.
The appointment is subject to but not limited to Garda Vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening and satisfactory references.
