Scoil Íosagáin is a DEIS school which caters for children with autism. Experience of working in a special class for ASD is essential. Some pupils present with behaviours that are challenging and adequate and relevant experience of dealing with such behaviours is desirable.
Skills and/or certified training in supporting children and young adults with complex needs would be advantageous as would knowledge of PECS, First Aid. Team-skills, enthusiasm, positive attitude and experience of working in changing and challenging environments are necessary as is a high standard of written and spoken English. The successful candidate will have to undergo satisfactory Garda Vetting, occupational health screening and reference checks prior to commencing employment. Candidates with panel rights should include Form with application.
