An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. John of God School is a special school that caters for pupils with moderate general learning disabilities, severe and profound general learning disabilities and pupils with autism and general learning disabilities. Some pupils present with behaviours that are challenging and adequate and relevant experience of dealing with such behaviours is desirable.
Skills and/or certified training in supporting children and young adults with complex needs would be advantageous as would knowledge of Lámh, PECS, First Aid. Team-skills, enthusiasm, positive attitude and experience of working in changing and challenging environments are necessary as is a high standard of written and spoken English. The successful candidate will have to undergo satisfactory Garda Vetting, occupational health screening and reference checks prior to commencing employment. Candidates with panel rights should include Form with application.
