The Board of Management of School of the Holy Spirit, seeks applications from suitably qualified SNAs for the above position. Salary and conditions as per the Department of Education & Skills.
School of the Holy Spirit is a special vertical school for students with Autism and/or Emotional Behavioural Difficulties. Enrolment is 84 students aged between 4-18 years. There are 15 Teachers and 32 SNAs on staff. 7 classes are at primary level and 7 classes are at secondary level.
Applicants must have significant experience (at least 2 years) of working in a special school environment as part of a special class team with students who have a primary diagnosis of Autism.
• Experience in essential competencies should include assisting with toileting, managing challenging behaviour, and enabling pupils to access therapies. Experience in assisting pupils access to Multi-Sensory Integration Programmes would be a distinct advantage.
Qualifications in the following courses are desirable due to the specialised nature of the work in this school:
• Fetac Level 5 Childcare or equivalent
A panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within the school year (2018/2019). Suitable applicants may also be invited to join a substitute panel of SNAs.
Please mark envelope ‘SNA Application’. All appointments are subject to Garda Vetting Clearance and sanction by the Department of Education and Skills.
