Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Rathgormack NS will be opening a special class for children with autism in September. This role involves ensuring safe transport of children to and from school each day. The successful candidate will be collected by the Bus Driver from the school, E32 PC85, in the morning, collect three children and escort them to school. Similarly at 1:40pm, escort the children home on the bus and return to the school again.
Experience Required: Experience of working with children with additional needs preferable, but not essential. Candidate must be kind, caring, patient and work well with children.
Responsibilities: Accompany/supervise students on their journey to and from school. Ensure children's safety while on the bus and ensure a safe handover with school staff/ parents. Complete relevant training for any medical needs.
Approximate working hours are:
Morning: 7:45am – 9:00am
Afternoons: 1:40pm - 3.00pm.
Monday to Friday-term time only.
Salary: €15.98 per hour (Paid monthly)
Holiday hours accrued are payable at Christmas, Easter and at beginning of Summer holidays. Public Holiday hours paid

Bus Escorts are subject to Garda Vetting requirements and completion of the Tusla Children First E-Learning Course.
