The Board of Management of Scoil San Treasa invites applications for the position of Acting Deputy Principal with teaching duties.
This is an ACTING position from the 1st September 2026 – 31st August 2027.
This is a key leadership role, offering the successful candidate an opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the in-school management team to ensure the effective management, development and wellbeing of a diverse and inclusive school community.
Scoil San Treasa is a mainstream Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin with 4 mainstream teachers, 2 SETs, 1 shared support teacher, 3 full time SNAs, 1 part time secretary, 1 part time caretaker and 1 part time cleaner.
Eligibility Criteria for the post;
1. Applicants must be fully registered with the Teaching Council (Route 1, Primary)
2. Have five years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
3. Hold a certificate to teach Religion in a Catholic School.
The Acting Deputy Principal will be expected to uphold and promote the ethos, values, and traditions of the school.
Roles and Responsibilities
This position aligns with the four domains of leadership and management as outlined in Circular 0044/2019 and the 'Looking at Our Schools 2022' document.
They identify four key areas of leadership and management and examples of demonstrated capacity will be sought in these domains:

2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
