An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

2 permanent infant day positions (0.83 & 0.83) and 1 full time permanent position (32 hour contract)

Applicants can expect to be working in an AS special class setting and will need to show a range of experience of working with pupils with additional needs especially those with autism.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teachers and school team to support pupils’ learning, communication, social development, independence, and regulation, including supporting care needs.
A strong understanding of inclusive practice, teamwork, and supporting positive behaviour is required. The candidate must have an ability to work on one’s own initiative and demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.

The class setting is subject to change at the discretion of the school principal.

Appointment is subject to the sanction of the Minister, the Patron, satisfactory references, compliance with Garda Vetting, and completion of a Statutory Declaration and Pre-Employment Occupational Health Screening for SNAs.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted and canvassing will automatically disqualify.

Applications should be made by post to the Chairperson of the Board of Management of Knockbridge NS and the envelope should be clearly marked 'SNA Application'.

Late applications and hand delivered applications will not be accepted.

Interviews will be held during the week beginning 6th July 2026.
