Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Supply Panel Teacher in Limerick Community Special School under Fixed Term Contracts(s) of Employment to take effect immediately. (4 Positions Available)

Limerick Community Special School is a Community Special School that will provide for the needs of students who have a diagnosis of Moderate General Learning Disabilities and complex learning needs who require the support of a special school, from the beginning of Primary school to eighteen years of age. The school is located in Dromdarrig, Mungret Co. Limerick V94ND77.

Limerick Community Special School will endeavour to create a connection and regulation first environment, neuro-affirmative approach, assessing staffs' CPD needs and implementation of evidence-based practices leading to highly effective learning and teaching in our school.
Limerick Community Special School is funded by the Department of Education. The Patron of the school is Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. Limerick Community Special School is a state school, multi-denominational and co-educational. Limerick Community Special School is underpinned by the ETB core values of Excellence in Education, Care, Respect, Equality and Community. Limerick Community Special School has registered to be a Droichead School.
Limerick Community Special School has been designated by the Department of Education as the base school for a Primary Teacher Supply Cluster. The purpose of the Teacher Supply Panel is to provide substitution cover to a cluster of designated special schools in the area. These special school in this cluster all have a different designation of pupil needs in their school.

This panel will consist of 4 fixed term Teaching posts commencing on the 1st September 2025 until the 31st August 2026. These 4 teachers will be appointed to Limerick Community Special School and work under the direction of the school principal.

The supply panel will operate in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in Circular 0059/2019. Please read circular prior to applying. Travel and Subsistence will be available as required.

Qualifications and Eligibility:
Qualifications (Essential):
To qualify for appointment candidates must be able to comply with the following;
• Be fully registered under Route 1 (Primary). This is the only route for Supply Panel Posts under circular 0059/2019.
• Applicants who are in their final year of degree/postgraduate diploma which will lead to a teaching qualification, but who have not yet completed their final exams and/or received their results, may apply for advertised vacancies, subject to the provisions regarding Teaching Council registration set out below. Any offer of interview or employment is made pending the applicant’s results meeting the requirements of the vacancy.

Experience (Desirable):
• Experience teaching children who have special education needs.
• Genuine enthusiasm, great teamwork skills and dedication to working with the
children towards developing their potential.
• Experience working with children who present with behaviours of concern is beneficial.
