**Job Title: Access and Inclusion Assistant (AIM)**
**Location: Portobello Montessori School, 43 Lower Dominick Street, Dublin 1**
**About Us:**
Portobello Montessori School, based in Portobello Institute, is located on Lower Dominick Street, Dublin 1. Within our setting we cater to children between the ages of 2.5 to 6 years of age using the Montessori method.
**The Role:**
We are seeking an Access and Inclusion Assistant (AIM) to join our team. You will report to the Montessori School Manager. Your responsibilities will include acting as a positive role model and delivering and implementing a high-quality play-based curriculum, under the guidance of the national quality frameworks Aistear and Síolta, both indoors and outdoors. You will be responsible for observing, guiding, stimulating and supervising children in a secure and caring environment as part of the childcare team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be highly organized and empathetic.
**Key Responsibilities:**
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Acting in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Montessori School at all times.
- Protecting the welfare of children in accordance with Children First, National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children.
- Organising, observing and conducting learning stories for all children.
- Encouraging the development of children’s emotional, social and cognitive growth.
- Sourcing materials and resources to make sure that they reflect the children’s developing interests and abilities.
- Using a play-based curriculum that inspires independence and promotes the growth of self-esteem in all children.
- Helping distribute healthy snacks that nourish the growing needs of children and reflect variation in culture or dietary requirements.

**Qualifications and Experience:**
- Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education.

- Demonstrated experience of working with children with disabilities, their family and parents.
- Understanding and experience of social inclusion and disability issues.
