An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St.Mary's NS invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the position of Special Needs Assistant. This SNA positions are for a Special ASD Class initially. Candidates must be able to work well as part of a team, be flexible, display strong work ethic and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training. Experience and further education training of working with children with ASD is essential and experience of working with children with challenging behaviour is desirable. Experience and or training in working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties is desirable. These are 0.75 posts (24 hours over 5 days) and are subject to periodic review by the NCSE and SENO. Applicants should have qualifications as per Department of Education and Skills Circular 0034/2018.
All appointments are subject to successful completion of Garda Vetting procedure, Occupational Health Screening and completion of the online Tusla Child Safeguarding training.
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the Supplementary Panel must furnish a certified copy of completed Panel Form 1 (PF1) with their application. Any canvassing will disqualify without exception. The position is subject to NCSE allocation and SENO review.
