St Mary's Special School, Johnstown, Navan, Co Meath, caters for pupils aged 4-18 with moderate, severe/profound general learning disabilities and pupils within the autistic spectrum. St Mary's Special School has a total staff of 91 including, 16 Teachers, 3 part time Teachers, 36 SNAs, 31 Bus Escorts, 3 Ancillary Staff and 5 Community Employment Learners.
The School is under the patronage of Bishop Michael Smith, Bishop of Meath. Candidates must have a certificate to teach R.E. in a Catholic school.
The Department of Education & Skills has advanced plans for a new school building for St Mary's Special School.

Have a proven leadership skills and track record in managing people (in any setting).
Evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
Experience in prioritizing, planning and organizing workload in a school context.

Previous experience in policy development.
Appointment will be subject to current Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
