St. Joseph's School is a special school that caters for pupils aged 4 to 18 years of age. Pupils have moderate/multiple disabilities. Approximately half of the pupils also have ASD. The school currently employs 25 SNAs. Applicants should have experience in working with pupils with learning disabilities, physical, sensory and complex difficulties in a special school. class or ASD unit setting and have worked as part of a school based team. Experience in the following is desirable: assistance with personal hygiene/toileting; FEDS(feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing); hoisting; behaviours that challenge; physiotherapy; speech and language therapy; occupational therapy and swimming programmes. Experience in the use of iPads, computer programmes, switches, interactive whiteboards and LAMH sign language is also desirable.
