Bunscoil Mhuire, Youghal, Co.Cork is a co-educational mainstream primary school with a current enrolment of 470 pupils over twenty one classes plus five special classes. The position of Principal is a fully administrative role. The position of Deputy Principal is also fully administrative and there are currently three AP1 and eight AP2 post holders . Bunscoil Mhuire has a long educational history dating back to the 1830's when a primary school was founded by the Presentation Sisters. It moved to the current campus in 1969 and came into being as Bunscoil Mhuire in 1996 following the amalgamation of the Presentation Sisters school and the Christian Brothers school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cloyne serving the town of Youghal and a wide catchment area.
Due to the pending retirement of our current principal, we are now seeking a new principal who will lead a dedicated and collaborative staff and who will work closely with the school community of parents, school management, the patron and wider community. The principal will continue to foster a nurturing, supportive and child cantered learning environment where every child is encouraged and supported to achieve their full potential.
The recruitment process will be governed by the terms of the Department Circular 0044/2019 chapter 4.
The roles and responsibilities of the post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management set out in the Circular.

3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
