The Board of Management of St Iberius National School, Wexford Town invites applications for the position of Caretaker.
Hours: 6 hours per week
Working Hours: Flexible
Duties and Responsibilities
The Caretaker will support the day-to-day upkeep, safety and presentation of the school building and grounds. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
General care and upkeep of the school building, grounds, fixtures and fittings.
Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance as required.
General grounds maintenance, including grass cutting and keeping outdoor areas tidy and safe.
Monitoring the condition of the school premises and reporting maintenance issues to the Principal.
Liaising with the Principal and Board of Management regarding maintenance and repairs.
Disposal of rubbish and general upkeep of the school premises.
Monitoring and ordering cleaning and maintenance supplies as required.
Helping to ensure the school environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, safety and presentation.
Carrying out other reasonable duties appropriate to the role, as directed by the Principal.
The position is subject to the continued availability of funding under the Department of Education and Youth Ancillary Services Grant Scheme.
The appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, Garda Vetting, completion of the required statutory declarations, and any other pre-employment requirements applicable to the position.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a probationary period in accordance with the terms of their contract of employment.
