St Pius X GNS, which is under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Dublin, invites applications from suitably qualified teachers for the post of Principal Teacher to begin on January 6th 2027. St Pius X GNS is an all-girls vertical school, with 544 pupils currently on roll. The present teaching staff comprises of 22 mainstream class teachers, 7 SET teachers, base school for another SET post and 6 SNA posts. The role will begin on January 6th 2027.
The appointment process will be governed by the terms of Department of Education Circular 0044/2019. The roles and responsibilities relate to the four domains of leadership and management:
1. Leading Learning and Teaching
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
Eligibility Criteria:
Fully registered with the Teaching Council (Route 1 – Primary).
Minimum of 5 years recognised teaching experience, two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland
The appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, Garda Vetting, Occupational Health Screening and documentary evidence of qualifications and Teaching Council registration.
