An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Scoil Chormaic Special School is inviting applications for a substitute teaching position to cover maternity leave.

Position: Primary Teacher – AS Class
Dates: 1 October 2026 to 19 March 2027
Class: Primary AS Class – pupils aged approximately 10–11 years
Scoil Chormaic is a special school catering for pupils aged 3–18 years with a range of special educational needs, including intellectual disabilities and autism.

The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and committed multidisciplinary school team and will be responsible for providing a differentiated, child-centred educational programme appropriate to the individual needs and abilities of the children.

The successful candidate will:
- Hold the appropriate primary trained qualifications and be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland.
- Have experience and/or a strong interest in working with pupils with special educational needs.
- Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive, child-centred education.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SNAs, therapists, parents/guardians and other professionals.
- Be committed to positive behaviour support and promoting the wellbeing and independence of all pupils.
- Demonstrate flexibility, initiative and a willingness to contribute positively to school life.

Applicants should be aware that the successful candidate may be required to work with pupils across the school as determined by the needs of the school.
