Coláiste Éinde invites applications for the position of Special Needs Assistant (SNA) – Substitute.
Coláiste Éinde is a co-educational post-primary special school catering for students aged 12–18 years. The school has 4 Special classes, 3 ASD classes and 1 deaf and hearing impaired. The school aims to provide a secure, caring and supportive environment through social, personal, academic, vocational and relevant life-skills programmes for all of our students.
The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated and supportive team, assisting students with their additional care needs and contributing positively to the inclusive catholic ethos of the school. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the normal range of duties associated with the role of an SNA, as set out in Department of Education and NCSE guidelines.
Applicants should:
Hold the appropriate qualifications for an SNA position, as outlined by the Department of Education.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Be committed to supporting the educational, care and wellbeing needs of students.
Work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and flexibility.
Knowledge and experience of working with teenagers and sign language is desirable.
The position is for 32 hours per week on a substitute basis, subject to ongoing NCSE and Department of Education sanction and the requirements of the school.
The appointment will be subject to:
Satisfactory reference checks.
Current Garda Vetting requirements.
Compliance with Department of Education regulations.
The candidate achieving the required standard at interview.
A valid Statutory Declaration and completion of the Form of Undertaking upon offer of employment.
A panel will be formed following the interviews and may be used to fill future substitute or other SNA vacancies that arise during the panel period.
