An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
The Bus Escort will be required to accompany and support pupils with autism on the school bus and should be available between 7.30am and 8.40am and between 1.20pm- and 3pm approx. Exact start date and times to be confirmed on appointment.
The bus escort duties will include:
• Escorting the students safely to and from school
• Liaising with school staff, bus driver and parents/guardians when necessary
• Assisting the student to board and alight from transport safely and ensure that the student is received by the responsible adult at each set down point
• Ensuring the student is seated and wearing a safety belt, straps/harnesses for the duration of the journey.
The bus escort will be required to meet the bus driver each morning and afternoon at the school before travelling to drop/ collect the children.
Salary is €15.98 per hour processed and paid during term time. Escorts are not paid during school holidays but receive 8% holiday pay separately.
Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting requirements, occupational health check and verification of references.
