Saplings Special School, Carlow is seeking to appoint a reliable, conscientious and practical Part-Time School Caretaker to join our school community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the school premises, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our pupils and staff.

Hours: 5 hours per week
Location: Saplings Special School, Carlow - R93P2X3
Closing Date: Friday, 21st August 2026

The ideal candidate will be reliable, trustworthy, practical and able to work independently. Experience working in a school or similar environment would be an advantage. An understanding of and commitment to working in a special school environment supporting children with autism and complex needs is desirable.

Key duties include:
General maintenance and upkeep of the school premises and grounds
* Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance as required
* Ensuring the school environment is safe and well maintained
* Liaising with the Principal and school staff regarding maintenance needs
* Other appropriate caretaking duties as required
