An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
This is a new position arising from the opening of our new Autism class. This role involves ensuring the safe transportation of pupils to and from school each day. Specific local arrangements between the escort and the driver for collection and drop off will be made once the successful candidate is appointed.
The hours of work (depending on pick up point for escort)
Morning: Approx 8.15am - 9.30am
Afternoons: Approx. 1.40pm - 3.15pm
Responsibilities: Accompany and supervise children on their journey to and from school, ensuring their safety while travelling and facilitate a safe handover with school staff and parents/guardians.
Salary: €15.98 per hour and in line with Department of Education and Youth guidelines for school bus escorts.
Experience Required: Experience of working with children with additional needs desirable but not essential. Must be kind, caring and patient and work well with children. The successful candidate will require good communication skills as they will be working daily with children, liaising with parents, school staff and the driver.
Appointment is subject to Garda Vetting requirements for the Diocese of Kilmore, occupational health check and verification of references. Please include current references along with their contact phone number with your application.
