POST DETAILS
Additional Information:
A part-time position (0.5) post comprising of 16 hours. The successful applicant will be required to attend the school five days per week from 11am to 2:12pm.
The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, show flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team. They will be expected to respect the dignity and confidentiality of pupils. Experience of working with pupils with ASD desirable.The successful applicants will work under the guidance and direction of the school principal and relevant class teacher.
Applicants for the position must demonstrate:
An excellent understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Special Needs Assistant, as outlined in Department of Education and Youth Circular 0032/2026, The Role of Special Needs Assistants in Recognised Primary, Post-Primary and Special Schools.
An excellent understanding of the role of the Special Needs Assistant in supporting the identified core care needs, participation, inclusion and developing independence of pupils with special educational needs.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements, confirmation of qualifications and occupational health screening.
Croke Park hours are being held on August 26.
