Sacred Heart School is a new special school located on the Old Longford Road in Mullingar. We are a special school for pupils with designated abilities termed moderate and severe and profound general learning disabilities and those with autism. Our pupils range in age from five to eighteen years.
We are a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath. The successful candidates should hold a recognised qualification to teach religion in a Catholic primary school.
The following criteria are desirable:
Teaching experience in a special education setting, knowledge and experience of strategies to promote positive behaviour, knowledge and experience of assisting pupils with the development of their communication skills.
Appointment will be subject, but not limited to: satisfactory references, current and continuing teaching council registration, Garda vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
Due to continued expansion and an increase in pupil enrolment, we have four positions available. There are three permanent teaching posts and one fixed-term teaching post available.
