An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This is a Job-sharing post (50%) with a current permanent member of staff on a 3 days one week / 2 days the following week basis, for the duration of the 2026 - 2027 school year.
Castlelyons NS is a mixed school of Catholic Patronage with 8 mainstream classes and with 2 special classes, one for children with autism, the other for children with moderate learning needs.
Applicants with a strong work ethic, who are flexible and can manage a varied timetable and work to their own initiative where necessary, are invited to apply for the position. Experience in communication needs (e.g. LÁMH), feeding care and intimate toileting care is preferable. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training if required.
An atmosphere of team playing & collaboration among all members of staff is long-established in Castlelyons NS. Staff members are encouraged to share their skills and talents for the benefit of all our pupils and for the continued development of our school.
This position will involve working closely with other SNA colleagues and teachers in support of our pupils with additional needs. It will involve supporting one or more additional needs pupils during the course of each school day.
The successful candidate will be expected to respect confidentiality at all times and will be subject to current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening.
