An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This position is for an Exceptional Teacher, 2 days a week for the 2026-2027 school year. It is for a 10 year old boy. There will also be an SNA supporting you and the student.

We are a special school setting catering for children with a moderate intellectual disability
currently age 7 to 18. In addition, our pupils/students may also have autism and/or Down
Syndrome and additional needs. We have 5 classes in total with one full time Fixed-Term Exceptional Teacher post. We currently have 20 SNAs in total.

We will transition into our new school, early 2027.

Knowledge and experience of TEAACH and LAMH would be beneficial to these positions. The successful candidate will work with an exisiting class teacher Primary 3/Senior 1 and the SNA Team. Experience working in a special school setting is desired and essential.

Any additional training for behaviours of concern is key to supporting the student in their class
setting.

Successful candidates will be notified and called for interview on August 18th from 9:30am.

Successful candidates must be available for two days staff training August 24th and 25th. School begins August 26th.
