Panel of Applicants:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Scoil Íde will open a Special Class for autistic children in School Year 2026-2027.
Candidate must be able to work well within a team, display a strong work ethic and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training.
This position will involve working closely with the class teacher and other staff in support of children with special needs. It will often involve working with more than one child with special needs during the school day.
The successful candidate will be expected to respect the confidentiality of students at all times.
The successful candidates may work in the special class and / or mainstream classes.
The following experince is desirable...
- Significant experience working with pupils with AS and communication difficulties
-Significant experience of working in a large school setting
- Practical experience with promotion of positive behaviour
- Evidence of CPD in the area of Special Education is advantageous as well as displaying a commitment to ongoing CPD engagement.
- Experience of caring for children with physical disabilities
- Training and experience in first aid administration.
