An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
There are two fixed term SET positions on offer at the school:
Position 1: This fixed term post is for a SET Teacher based in Knockainey N.S. only
Position 2: This fixed term post is for a SET Teacher based in Knockainey N.S. Mon-Fri, and shared (Mon, Tues and Wed mornings 9am-10.45 am approx.) with Lough Gur N.S., V35 XE27.
Class placement is subject to change at the determination of the principal.
Knockainey N.S. seeks applications from committed individuals who display a keen
understanding of teaching, who are team players who are willing to contribute to the overall development of the school.
The following skills, experience and qualifications are desirable:
-Experience of teaching in a similar sized co-educational school
-Knowledge and experience of working with pupils with ASD, Dyslexia and MGLD would be beneficial to the role as would a knowledge of Assistive Technology, Assessment and writing SMART targets for SSPs and IEPs. In addition, experience in any of the following: Team Teaching/ In-class support/ Literacy Lift Off/ Mata Sa Rang intervention would be advantageous.
- Additional extracurricular skills are highly desirable, particularly in the areas of I.T. and STEM.
