St. Christopher's Special School caters for pupils with a Moderate General Learning Disability, pupils with a Severe/ Profound General Learning Disability and pupils with Autism who fall within the above two categories of GLD. The age range of the pupils is 4-18 years.
Many pupils have additional complex needs and/ or multiple disabilities & medical needs. Applicants should have experience working with children with a learning disability, physical, sensory and complex difficulties and must demonstrate the specific competencies and requirements to meet the special educational, care and medical needs of children in the school. Experience working with pupils who display behaviours of concern is essential. Applicants must be willing to work in all classes. IT experience of AAC devices, iPads, tablets, interactive whiteboards, Lámh sign language is desirable.
