Scoil Mhuire Brierhill is a vertical mainstream primary school located on the outskirts of Galway City, catering for pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class in both mainstream and autism class settings.

We have five teaching positions available for the 2026/2027 school year, as follows:

2 fixed-term mainstream teaching positions, covering a secondment and a job-share.
3 long-term specific purpose contract positions. These will be mainstream class teacher positions and will arise from a combination of various staff leave types and additional EAL hours.

Candidates should be able to work well as part of an enthusiastic and energetic team of teaching and non-teaching colleagues. They should have strong interpersonal skills, be good communicators, demonstrate flexibility, display a strong work ethic, and show a willingness to engage in further training.

Experience in delivering the New Primary Maths Curriculum and the Primary Language Curriculum, team teaching, and supporting the inclusion of pupils from special class settings is desirable.

Appointment will be subject to Garda vetting, occupational health screening, completion of the online Tusla Child Safeguarding Training, and satisfactory references. The successful candidate will be expected to respect pupil and staff confidentiality at all times, and to uphold the Catholic ethos of the school.

Initial duties may be subject to change. These positions will commence on 27 August 2026.
