An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Assumption Senior Girls NS is a senior girls' Catholic primary school, catering to children from 3rd to 6th class. We are looking for an enthusiastic SNAs to join our ASD class team. The school re-opens on August 27th, with staff planning day on August 27th.
The Role of the SNA is as set out in DES Circular 30/2014.
Candidates must be positive, flexible and work well in a team environment. The successful candidate must be willing to engage in relevant CPD and respect the ethos of the school. Duties may include assisting pupils in the swimming pool and assisting on out-of-school visits, walks and similar activities. The successful candidate might be required to assist in catering for the purpose of a specific pupil. Candidates may be required to administer medicine, where a child requires adult assistance to administer medicine and where the extent of assistance required would overly disrupt normal teaching time. Candidates must be willing be to assist with intimate care needs; including toileting, where a child requires adult assistance and where the extent of assistance required would overly disrupt normal teaching time.
Essential criteria:
• The successful candidate must have experience working with children with communication difficulties. (experience with PECs/Lámh is advantageous)
• The successful candidate must have experience working with children with autism. (experience in ASD class is advantageous)
• Experience of using positive approaches to behaviours that challenge.
• A Level 5 or Level 6 Qualification in Special Needs Assistance
