Additional Information:
An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Available post: 0.83 SNA posts
Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, able to work on their own initiative and in a team capacity. All school staff are expected to engage in relevant CPD and respect the school ethos.
Experience of working in a DEIS Band 1 school is advantageous. Experience of working with children with Autism, Down Syndrome and other additional care needs is desirable .
SNAs can be allocated to any SNA role in the school at any time, at the discretion of the school principal
An additional qualification in additional/special needs care and/or education, or related area, is advantageous.
Additional childcare and/or other relevant qualifications or courses (e.g. First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support Strategies, PECS, LÁMH, etc) would be of great benefit.
Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements, occupational health screening and completion of Children First online training.
