An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Waterpark National School invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the three positions of SNA in our school, the positions are as follows;
1 SNA Post - Full Time (Permanent)
1 SNA Post - Full Time (Fixed Term)
1 SNA Post - 0.5 (Permanent)
- We are looking for a candidate who has experience in a classroom/school environment and an interest in supporting the educational needs of pupils with additional and/or behavioural needs.
- The ideal candidate must be positive, flexible and responsive to the individual needs of the children and the school.
- We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, who is able to work on their own initiative and someone who is willing to get involved in events and activities relating to our school.
-Applicants should also demonstrate their ability to work as part of a school team under the direction of the class teacher, special education teacher and Principal.
-Candidates must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school. CPD on autism / Experience working with children with ASD, Down Syndrome, emotional / behavioural needs, ADHD is desirable as is a QQI Level 5/6 - Special Needs Assistant Qualification.
The successful candidate can be allocated to any SNA role in the school at any time, at the discretion of the school principal.

Appointment is subject to the current Garda Vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening and satisfactory references.
