Special Class Teacher
There are two posts advertised. Both are one-year substitute posts (26/08/2026 to 25/06/2027) for Special Class Teacher, joining a vibrant team of staff and students in Sonas, our three special classes for children with Autism, in Scoil Bhríde Kilcullen. Scoil Bhríde is a mixed, Catholic Primary School in the Archdiocese of Dublin, originally founded by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion, in 1878. Today, our school is a thriving place of learning with 26 mainstream classes and 3 special classes (ASD), in Sonas. Facilities include a large (double) hall/gym with state-of-the-art AV system and two smaller halls. Sonas facilities include an outdoor sensory space and an indoor quiet room, ball pool, and a large sensory integration room. Outdoor facilities for all include a large pitch surrounded by a running track, basketball courts and an outdoor classroom.

Enrolment & Staff
Current enrolment is 611 students, representing 452 families. Currently, our staff includes 41 Teachers (including administrative Principal and Deputy Principal), 16 Special Needs Assistants (SNAs), two full-time School Secretaries, one full-time Caretaker, four Bus Escorts for Sonas and four Cleaning Staff.

School Ethos
At Scoil Bhríde, all children are supported to grow and develop into happy, confident, competent learners and communicators who feel strong and well in themselves. The vitality of staff and students, the support of parents and community and the high-quality educational facilities and resources at Scoil Bhríde, make it a very special place of learning for children and staff. Staff lead initiatives for children across a range of curricular areas including STEAM, languages, sports, etc. In line with our Catholic Ethos, strong and positive relationships and respect for all, are at the heart of all we do. We are always stronger together than any of us, alone. The school’s motto is: Ar aghaidh linn, le chéile (Onwards, together).
