Eolas Breise:
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for this important leadership and management position in Skerries Educate Together National School.
Our school was established in 2008 and has grown significantly in size to become what it is today: a mainstream school with 15 mainstream classes and four special classes attached, with another 2 special classes due to open in September 2026.
The Board is looking to recruit a school leader who can contribute positively to the future direction of the school, and for someone who can work effectively with the Principal, staff members, parents/guardians and of course the pupils, in the best interests of all members of the school community. We believe that the best learning takes place in an atmosphere of equality and respect, and these are the values that we try to put into practice every day.
This Deputy Principal post is a permanent position and the appointment will be made via open competition. Due to the opening of our two new special classes in September 2026, this Deputy Principal role is an administrative one that has no teaching duties.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities for this position relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as outlined in circular 0044/2019 as follows:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
We wish to recruit a school leader who understands the Educate Together ethos and who would like to be involved in continuing to build an inclusive, diverse and equality-based education for our school community.
Shortlisted candidates will receive more information on the interview and criteria before the interview.
