Linn Dara Schools invites applications from dynamic, dedicated, and compassionate educators for the role of Special Class Teacher in our unique and rewarding school community.

To support our expanding inpatient provision, we are seeking to fill four permanent teaching posts for the upcoming 2026/27 academic year from a range of priority subject areas:

2 Teaching Posts: to be based at Linn Dara Approved Centre, Cherry Orchard Hospital, Dublin 10.
2 Teaching Posts: to be appointed for the new National Children’s Hospital Ireland (NCHI), located on the shared campus at St James’s Hospital, Dublin 8*.
*Note: These roles will be initially based at Linn Dara Approved Centre until training components for the NCHI begin later in the autumn term.

*Position Details*
Role: Full-Time (25 hours / 5 days) Permanent Special Class Teacher
Requirements: Teaching Council registration and qualifications in HISTORY and/or POLITICS & SOCIETY.

*About Us*
Linn Dara Schools are multi-denominational specialist hospital schools under the patronage of the Health Service Executive (HSE). We provide high-quality education that supports recovery and wellbeing for pupils admitted to Linn Dara CAMHS Approved Centre and outpatients of Linn Dara CAMHS Community and other South Dublin teams.

*Our existing Schools* - both inpatient and outpatient - are based within the Cherry Orchard Hospital Campus, offering a vibrant and supportive multidisciplinary environment where education and care come together to help young people re-engage, rebuild, and thrive.

*Our new School expansion* - will be based in the CAMHS unit in the new National Children’s Hospital Ireland (NCHI) providing educational continuity and a school experience for the 20 new beds opening there later this year.

*About the Role*
As a Special Class Teacher at Linn Dara Schools, you’ll:
• Deliver creative, student-centred learning across a range of subjects and levels (Junior and Senior Cycle).
• Collaborate closely with a team of educators and healthcare professionals to support pupils’ educational and emotional development.
• Bring energy, empathy, and flexibility to a role that’s as rewarding as it is impactful.

*Desirable (but not essential):*
• Experience or qualifications in special education or a special school setting.
• A willingness to teach across diverse subjects and ability levels.
• A reflective and collaborative teaching approach, with a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

*Employment Details*
• Teachers are employed as Special Class Teachers, with the same pay, holidays, and conditions as Primary Teachers including the new Special School allowance of €2,500 per annum introduced in Circular 0054/2026.
• The position is Full Time (25 hours / 5 days per week).
