Portmarnock Community School invites applications for the position of Special Needs Assistant (SNA).

This is a fixed-term maternity leave cover position commencing on or about 1 September 2026. The contract will terminate on the return of the employee from maternity leave.

The successful candidate will support students with additional educational needs in accessing and participating fully in school life and will work collaboratively with teachers, the Additional Educational Needs (AEN) team, school leadership and parents to promote inclusion and student wellbeing. Experience of supporting students with autism and/or working in an ASD class setting would be desirable.

Applicants must meet the Department of Education requirements for appointment as a Special Needs Assistant.
