An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Appointment is subject to current Garda Vetting requirements and Occupational Health Screening. Applications will be accepted by email only. Canvassing will disqualify without exception. The position is subject to NCSE allocation and SENO review.
This is a fixed term full post for the academic year 2026/ 2027.
This appointment seeks somebody who is a team player, has a calm disposition, is confident in dealing with behaviours that challenge, is physically active, shows initiative, display a strong work ethic, and demonstrates a willingness to avail of further training courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school . This position will involve working closely with the class teacher and other staff in support of children with special needs. It will require working with more than one child with special needs during the school day. Minimum qualifications as per Department of Education and Skills requirements DES Circular 44/2014.
Please include relevant qualifications and additional courses in the area of special needs education. The successful candidate will be expected to respect the confidentiality of the students at all times.
The following requirements are desirable:
• experience in using SEN assistive technology equipment and programs with
children
• experience and training in intimate care, diabetes, EBD
• up to date training in Manual Handling and First Aid
• experience of working with children who are on the ASD spectrum .
