The Board of Management of Woodland NS, Letterkenny, a co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Raphoe, invites applications for the position of Administrative Principal Teacher, commencing on Thursday 27th August 2026.

Woodland National School is a vibrant and inclusive school committed to providing a high-quality, holistic education for all pupils. The Principal will lead a dedicated and collaborative staff and will work closely with the Board of Management, parents and the wider school community to ensure the continued development and success of the school.

The roles and responsibilities of the post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as outlined in Circular 0044/2019.
Leading teaching and learning
Managing the Organisation
Leading School Development
Developing Leadership Capacity

Applicants must be fully registered (Route 1) with the Teaching Council and have at least five years teaching experience in a recognised Primary School in Ireland.

They must also demonstrate:
A clear and ambitious vision for high-quality teaching and learning.
A strong commitment to inclusive and child-centred education.
A commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school.
Proven Leadership and Management within a school setting.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Experience in school improvement planning, school self-evaluation and policy development.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

The appointment will be subject to Garda Vetting, documentary evidence of educational qualifications, satisfactory references (please provide three with contact numbers), Occupational Health Screening and the approval of the Patron
