Scoil Naomh Lorcáin, Levitstown is a co-educational school based in the Dublin Diocese.
This post is a Permanent position. The successful applicant will have duties as a mainstream class teacher in a multigrade setting.
The successful candidate will be required to lead and maintain a happy, active and progressive learning environment and will lead the school in partnership with staff, parents and the wider community. Promoting high expectations and standards, the school always strives to be a child-centred and safe environment for all its pupils to learn and develop to the best of their individual strengths and abilities.
The school maintains a strong Catholic ethos and a commitment to supporting this ethos is essential, as is a recognised Certificate to teach Catholic Religious Education.
The criteria for roles and responsibilities of the post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in Department of Education Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
* A clear understanding of and commitment to upholding the Catholic ethos, values and traditions of the school, and to fostering the positive, collaborative and supportive learning environment that currently exists within the school community.
* An in-depth knowledge of the Irish Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience
* A high level of understanding, knowledge and experience of special education needs and of inclusion and diversity in education
* Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload
* Previous experience in policy formulation and implementation
* Proven leadership, organisational and administrative experience within a school setting including strategic planning and school self-evaluation.
* Proven ability to work as part of a team and the capacity to empower staff and promote distributed leadership and professional learning within the school.
* Continuing and relevant professional development especially in the area of school leadership
* Excellent intrapersonal, intrapersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, pupils, parents, Board of Management, other schools, wider community and external agencies.
* The ability to foster the involvement of parents within the school community.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria: fully registered under Route 1 (Primary) with the Teaching Council.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
