Additional Information:
Hospital School CHI at Temple Street is a tertiary paediatric Hospital School that provides education for children and young people with medical needs ranging in age from 4 to 18 years. This school operates under the Primary School Sector, consequently, teachers are contracted to work until June 30th.
The Secondary Curriculum up to and including Leaving Certificate is provided and students may require preparation for state examinations. Students may also require support in FETAC, QQI, LCA, Level 1 and Level 2 Learning Programmes.
We aim to deliver a high quality education service that is appropriate, holistic and customised for each child and to equip all students to leave hospital school, empowered with a positive attitude towards continuing their education.
Teaching staff work collaboratively with other teaching colleagues and clinical staff in the hospital as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
An additional qualification and experience in working in Special Education is desirable. A genuine interest in working with students with Additional Educational Needs to help them achieve their full potential is extremely important.
Qualifications and experience in teaching "Required Subjects" is preferable, however, an element of flexibility is necessary in teaching a range of subjects.
