An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Community National Schools (CNS) are publicly funded, publicly managed multi-denominational schools that welcome all children from the local communities they serve.
Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board now invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following posts:
• 1 x Language Support Teacher (Temporary- 15 hours per week) (commencing 05/01/2026
The teaching post will remain in place until the end of the 2025/26 academic year.
The successful candidate will be appointed to a language support teacher (EAL) position initially however duties may be subject to change.
Experience teaching in an EAL setting is desirable.
Experience teaching in a DEIS school setting, familiarity with DEIS initiatives, leading classroom based initiatives and team teaching desirable.
