The Board of Management of St. Catherine’s Special School invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced teachers for the position of Deputy Principal.
This is a permanent, full-time position commencing on 05/01/2026.
St. Catherine’s Special School caters for pupils aged 4 to 18 years presenting with moderate, severe and profound general learning disabilities, as well as pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex needs. The school is committed to providing a safe, caring, and stimulating educational environment where each pupil is supported to reach their full potential.
The Deputy Principal will be a key member of the In-School Management Team, sharing responsibility with the Principal for the leadership, management, and administration of the school in accordance with the Department of Education Circular 0044/2019.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
Be fully registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland;
Have a minimum of five years’ teaching experience recognised by the Department of Education;
Demonstrate a strong commitment to and understanding of the principles of special education;
Possess excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a proven capacity for leadership;
Experience working in a special school or special education setting is highly desirable.
Applications must include:
A completed Application Form for Deputy Principal ;
A cover letter outlining your suitability for the role; and
A copy of your Teaching Council Registration Certificate.
