Our Lady of Lourdes is a warm, welcoming and inclusive vertical mainstream school.
We are inviting applications for the position of Principal. This is a permanent full time
position. Our Lady of Lourdes NS is an all girls school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cork and Ross.

The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the four domains of leadership and
management as specified in Circular 0044/2019 as follows:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity

Shortlisting and the interview process will be based on the 4 domains.
The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
• Proven leadership skills, including policy development and implementation.
• An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience
• A good working knowledge of special education needs and of inclusion and diversity in education
• Proven ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative manner and a strong commitment to foster good relationships with all staff members
• Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of
innovative and evidence-based initiatives.
• Evidence of a high level of commitment to Continuous Professional Development
• The ability to promote a culture of learning and creativity in school
• An understanding of School Self-Evaluation (SSE) and school improvement processes
from development to implementation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills
• A proven ability to work collaboratively with all staff members, the Board of
Management and the wider community.
• Understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a catholic school.
• Ability to lead mentoring programmes and initiatives
• A clear vision of how to lead quality teaching and learning .

Appointment will be subject, but not limited to:
• Satisfactory references
• Current and continuing Teaching Council registration
• Current Garda Vetting requirements
• Occupational Health screening
