Clonoulty Central NS. is a Catholic School under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly. It is a co-educational rural school with a current enrolment of 95 pupils. Staff comprises of 4 mainstream class teachers, 2 SET and 2 SNA posts.
Applicants for this position must have a certificate to teach religious education.
This is a permanent position appointed through open competition in line with Circular 0044/2019.
The ideal candidate will:
1.Lead Teaching and Learning.
2. Manage the Organisation.
3. Lead School Development.
4. Develop Leadership Capacity..
In addition the following skills experience and knowledge are desirable:
1. An understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic Primary School.
2. An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience across all classes in a multi-grade situation.
3. A clear vision of how to lead quality teaching and learning and an understanding of the dual role of the teaching principal.
4. Proven leadership skills with the knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer a school.
5. Excellent people management and communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
6. Experience in prioritising, planning and organising workload.
7. A high level of understanding and knowledge of special education needs and of inclusion and diversity in education.
8. A commitment to and evidence of continuing and relevant professional development.
9. Previous experience in policy formation and development.
10. Experience in the development, implementation operation and evaluation of innovative school based initiatives.
11. A strong committment to work collaboratively and foster relationships with all staff members, Board of Management, parents, guardians and the wider school community.
12. A willingness to work in partnership with external agencies.
